After attending Bonilla High School, Billie graduated from the rural school teaching program in Huron, SD and taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Glendale Township. While teaching, she lived with Ronald and Wilda Waring. It was during this time she met and married Gerald Blaseg and together they raised three children on a ranch in south Hand County.

Billie spent 30 years with the Good Samaritan Society, serving as the Activities Director at Prairie Center in Miller. She loved her time at Prairie Center, bringing exciting and innovative activities to residents.

Billie was a member of both Cedar and Ree Heights Congregational Churches, before moving to Miller where she became active in the Miller Presbyterian Church community.

Grandchildren, gardening and dancing brought her joy, as did listening to Gerald’s music. Billie had a passion for travel, recounting Germany, Spain and Portugal as a few of her favorite destinations.

Billie will be especially remembered for her kind spirit, devotion to her family and for brightening the days of all those around her. A loving mother, a doting grandmother and a treasured friend; she will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
