Maynard Deuter, 82, of Miller, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Miller with Pastor Matt Richards officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Morningside Cemetery, Ree Heights.
Maynard was born February 14, 1933 to Charles and Clara (Miller) Deuter. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force, where he met and married his wife, Sumiko Shidara, on May 9, 1956. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the South Dakota Job Service for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sumiko of Miller; three children: Susan of St. Lawrence, Danny (Gloria) of Schertz, Texas, and Victor (Theresa) of Aberdeen; grandchildren: Charles, David, Denon, Anthony, and Micheal; sister, Wanda (Max) Harrell; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice White; and infant brother, Charles.
