Margaret A. Ufen, 93, of Miller, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Highmore Health in Highmore surrounded by her family.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller with Rev. Max Miller officiating. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the church.
Margaret Anne Gortmaker was born August 1, 1922 in Boone, Iowa to Lear and Johanna (Furst) Gortmaker. She married Henry Albert Ufen on November 14, 1940. They had four children: Donna, Frank, Mary Ann and Joe. For several years, they farmed south of Miller. In 1966, Henry passed away and Margaret sold the farm and moved to town.
Margaret loved to sew; making beautiful quilts. She’d rather walk than drive her car. In 2009, she was diagnosed with dementia and in September of 2009, she moved into the Highmore Health; where she resided until she passed away.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Mary Ann McFall of Casper, WY; son, Joe Ufen of Magnolia, TX; son-in-law, Jim Kaczrowski of Mora, MN; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Frank; daughter, Donna Kaczrowski; and her six siblings.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Margaret’s arrangements.
